Kalonzo Musyoka, addressed an incident involving former Prime Minister Raila Odinga during a public statement on July 11. Musyoka revealed that Odinga had to change his phone number after it was widely shared by a Gen Z individual, leading to a surge of unsolicited calls and messages.

“People went to greet Baba yesterday, and when they visited him, he had to change his telephone number, because a Gen Z put his number everywhere. Maybe this is a measure of cyberbullying, please be kind to Baba. If they can do this to Raila, imagine who else in this country,” Musyoka stated.

The incident highlights the growing concern of cyberbullying in Kenya, even impacting high-profile figures like Raila Odinga. Musyoka’s plea for kindness underscores the importance of respecting privacy and the potential harm that can arise from irresponsible online behavior.

Cyberbullying has become an increasingly prevalent issue, affecting individuals across all walks of life. Musyoka’s remarks serve as a reminder of the need for greater digital responsibility and empathy in our interactions.
