Pachagazine: what’s your real name?

Sam Mapesa: My name’s Samwel Peter Tarimo alias Sam Mapesa.

Pachagazine: How did you come up with your brand name?

Sam Mapesa: Firstly, Mapesa is my grandpa’s name so I when came to think about it, I decided to use it as my brand name.

Sam Mapesa: Sam Mapesa is a talented music artiste with a lot of effort in his work inshort he is focused. Geographically I come from North of Tanzania, and ethically a from Chagga. I was born and raised in the city of Dar es Salaam ,Temeke.

Pachagazine: What got you into music?

Sam Mapesa: While young I used to love music and so I decided to venture into music after I finished schooling. The story and inspiration from Dully Sykes also motivated me into this.

Pachagazine: how long have been into music?

Sam Mapesa: Its been five years since I started.

Pachagazine: How would you describe the music that you typically do?

Sam Mapesa: Rapping, Hip pop is my genre.

Pachagazine: who is your role model in music?

Sam Mapesa: My role model is Mr Blue Bayser

Pachagazine: Do you have a team or you work alone?

Sam Mapesa: I work alone.

Pachagazine: what are some of the challenges you came across while entering the industry?

Sam Mapesa: Challenges are many but I was worth the to struggle just to make it out but for now, I thank so much my Lord for this far I am now because many others gave up in music.

Pachagazine: What else do you do apart from music?

Sam Mapesa: Am a businessman.

Pachagazine: Where have you performed and what’s your favorite venue?

Sam Mapesa: I have perfomed in many places but the one that stands out is one that I have performed in Mbalamwezi beach in Msasani.

Pachagazine: Who would you most likely want to collaborate with?

Sam Mapesa: Tanzania -Diamond and Kenya – Kaligraph Jones, Nigeria – Wizkid.

Pachagazine: Are team Konde gang or team wasafi?

Sam Mapesa: They are both great arts in music.

Pachagazine: What should your fans expect from you in the near future?

Sam Mapesa: They should expect more good work from me.
