Strategically fusing poetry to melodic bongo flava, the harmonic Rextan Sibu shares his journey on an exclusive interview with Pachagazine.

Pachagazine: Tell as who is Rextan Sibu.

Rextan Sibu: Rextan Sibu is a young ascending bongo flavour star from Nairobi, Kenya.

Pachagazine: Who or what inspired you to make music?

Rextan Sibu: I wouldn’t say someone inspired me. I will give credit to my life experience. That’s what inspired me to music.

Pachagazine: Bongo music is associated with Tanzanian artists, why choose to do bongo?

Rextan Sibu: The main reason I ventured into bongo music is due to the talent and experience I have in poetry making. This made bongo music my most preferable genre.

Pachagazine: How long have you been in music?

Rextan Sibu: This is my second year in music.

Pachagazine: How is your creative process like? Do you write your pieces along or you have a creative team?

Rextan Sibu: First of all, everyone needs a team, so I can’t say I work alone because there are people who help make my music even sound better.

Pachagazine: Are you working as a solo artist or you are under a management?

Rextan Sibu: I work as a solo artist

Pachagazine: Who in the music industry do you look up to as your role model?

Rextan Sibu: The list is big, just to mention a few; Diamond Platnumz and Bahati Kenya.

Pachagazine: You have worked with Dr Eddie, how was it like meeting him and working together?

Rextan Sibu: That was on myfirst song. At this time, it was not easy for me to just trust any producer, so we linked up with Dr. Eddie on social media and that’s how we came to work on that project.

Pachagazine: How many songs have you released so far?

Rextan Sibu: I have two songs ‘sina’ and ‘mama’.

Pachagazine: What should your fans expect next of you?

Rextan Sibu: Am working on new big projects, my fans should expect more.

Rextan Sibu: Eastlando.

Pachagazine: are you in a relationship?

Rextan Sibu: Yes, am in a relationship.

Rextan Sibu: I try to take time while creating my pieces in a unique way without copying other popular artists.
