A video of the daring rescue operation by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has gone viral on social media, with netizens comparing it to scenes from the movie.

Video shows a truck driver being pulled away from a truck swept away by severe flooding six hours after him in Galana kulalu.

As reported on the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust website, as the tanker was crossing the Galana kulalu Dam, the river suddenly overflowed and surrounded the dam.

As of 10:00 a.m., he was said to be trapped in the tanker and not until 4:00 when the manager rang the alarm.

“It was 3.30pm on May 3, 2023, Galana Operations his manager sounded the alarm.
When the tanker passed the Galana Kulalu Dam, the river suddenly flooded and surrounded the dam,” read part of his statement. “Surrounded by flood waters, the driver was trapped inside the vehicle. The crisis deepened as the water pushed the tanker sideways, shattered the windshield and engulfed the cabin. The man spearheaded, but the river It was only a matter of time before it swallowed the whole car.From the shore, onlookers were frightened but unable to intervene, helpless as the current made any kind of crossing impossible.

The driver was trapped in the oil-filled tanker as the water rose slowly, causing him to spin.

However, he held on until he was safely evacuated. “The moment we received the call, our Air Force took action. Taru Carr-Hartley flew an SWT helicopter to the scene, accompanied by Roan Carr-Hartley. “We were able to find a truck that had been stolen. As they approached, they were relieved to see that the driver was still holding on,” the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust explained.
