Major Nameye Khadija (Born 23rd March), better known by his stage name Mejja, is a Genge musician from Kenya. He had a contract with Calif Records, where he put out several joint albums. He received recognition for his song “Jana Kuliendaje” in Kenya’s Chaguo la Teeniz in 2008.
He received Ksh. 20,000 after beating out the other three winners to become the Principal winner in the Celtel Talent Search. Later, in 2007, he relocated to Nairobi where he met Clemo of Calif Records, who assisted in developing his skill.
Mejja and his brother Wambugu began singing together in primary school. They had come together to form the Ghetto Clan. Mejja released his debut single, “Jana Kuliendaje,” in 2008. Mejja gained popularity after the release of the song “Landlord” in 2011.
Mejja’s five-year marriage was perfect up until his ex-wife sent him a text message ending it. Since things had been going smoothly before that, he completely missed this coming.
Mejja fell deeply into depression, which severely harmed his life and profession. At one point, he even considered suicide. His daughter, whom he adores to death, was his main gain from the marriage.
Just a short time after his wife left him, he met someone new. In August 2019, he shared a photo of himself looking gorgeous on Instagram. He got to refer to her as his Ghetto queen in a lengthy, corny caption that was posted after the picture.
His new partner is Jeff Kimanzi’s ex-girlfriend, and the two are parents to a son together.
The celebrity introduced his new girlfriend know as Ray Zuri and fans can’t keep calm.
He joined forces with Kidkora and Madtraxx to create the Kansoul, a well-known trio in the Kenyan music scene. They have released popular songs like Nyongwa and Dabo tap as a group.
His estimated net worth is more than 25.3 million Kenyan Shillings. Mejja has more than ten years of experience in the music business. His theatrical appearances and brand endorsements are where he makes the most of his money. He currently represents the new “Mando Bites” from Broadway Bakery.
