ERIC OMONDI President of Comedy Africa, (POCA),

Eric Omondi, born 9th march 1987 is a Kenyan comedian and an entertainer. He gained popularity countrywide while performing as a comedian on Churchill show which aired on NTV.

Hailing from the Luo community Eric was born in a family of four siblings and was raised in Kisumu County where he attended Kondele primary school and later Kisumu boys before joining daystar university in Athi river where he perused a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism.

In twenty nineteen it broke out to the public that Eric Omondi is the baddy to popular news anchor Jacky Maribe’s son “Zahari”, after a photo of both of them attending their son’s graduation went viral.

At that time Eric Omondi was dating Kenyan-Italian model Shantel Grazioli but they later broke up after dating for almost 5years.


He renounced performing on Churchill show and tried starting several solo shows such as; ‘Eric Omondi Untamed’ and ‘Hawayu’ among others but they all turned out to be a series of miss calculated maneuvers. He also worked as a reporter on NTV but was sucked two weeks later after just doing one story which turned out to be a mess.


His journey to where he is today is credited to the father of stand-up comedy, Daniel Ndambuki (Churchill). The two met in 2006 and exchanged numbers after Eric impressed in a gig he was performing. Two years later, Churchill called the ‘skinny’ comedian to inform him of what turned out to be an opportunity of a lifetime. His debut at the Churchill Show was not what he expected but he picked up fast and won the hearts of many.

Despite all his challenges Omondi has turned out to be a reputable award-winning comedian, MC and a content creator. Among his achievements includes; being named 9th in the list of the funniest men in Africa, also named best comedian, Africa entertainment awards 2019.

On 28th February Erick Omondi flew to the US on a business mission to perform in Las Vegas on March 3rd and 4th. He was featured on the Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon making it as the first Kenyan to be privileged.


Also known as president of comedy Africa (POCA) Eric currently does parodies on YouTube, Instagram and other social platforms gaining millions of followers.

Eric Omondi’s net worth is estimated to be around Ksh 35 million making him one of the richest comedian in the region. He also has his own company ‘Big Tyme Entertainment’ which he heads as the chief executive officer.

In November 2020 Erick launched Eric Omondi Studios and opened Big Tyme Offices. Under the Big Tyme Entertainment brand, the offices will provide all production aspects under one roof for corporate clients as well as artists.


His commitment has laded him in many event and endorsements locally and internationally currently being the brand ambassador of various companies and products such as; OLX Kenya, Dola Flour, and Supa Mojo Noodles.
