US Vice President Kamala Harris, who is on an official trip to Africa has released an official Spotify playlist of African music as a means of crystallizing her current trip across the continent.
The playlist, titled “My Travels: Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia,” is live on the streaming platform, and is designed to “amplify the artists and sounds from my travels” across those countries, per its description.
Her list, thankfully, included a popular Kenyan artist and at least two Tanzanian artists as well.
Sauti Sol’s Bien Aime-Baraza, who is currently riding high with his Darassa collabo ‘Nobody’ features on the list as well as Tanzania’s Ali Kiba and Zuchu.
While announcing the playlist, Harris made a tweet after meeting some selected people from the creative industry in Ghana.
“I am releasing a playlist featuring the artists from my travels across Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia, including many of the Ghanaian and Ghanaian-American artists I met today like @blacksherif_ and @amaarae,” she wrote.
The first female US vice president arrived in Ghana on Sunday (March 26) for her first trip to Africa while in office, and is also scheduled to visit Tanzania on Wednesday and Zambia on Friday before returning to the U.S. on Sunday.
