Kenya’s largest mobile network safaricom, has waived transaction charges for all transactions below one thousand (Ksh 1000).
This move came after the president of the republic of Kenya, Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta advice Kenyans to embrace cashless transactions in a move to avoid rapid spread of the epic corona virus.

On a massage to its customers safaricom wrote “Dear Customer, for the next 90 days, Send Money Ksh.1,000 & below for FREE. Also transfer money between M-PESA & Bank for FREE. Avoid germs, avoid cash“
